Interior Design & Consulting Company Ho Chi Minh City  share How a Global Insurance Firm Adapted Office Design for the New Normal

As companies worldwide transition to post-pandemic realities, the emphasis is shifting from remote work to reintegrating employees into physical office spaces. Our interior design & consulting company in Ho Chi Minh City partnered with a Singapore-based global insurance firm to create an engaging and safe environment that encourages staff to return.

Addressing Employee Concerns

The firm approached us to devise an inviting office space that would motivate employees to come back after extended remote work. Drawing from our successful projects in other Asian cities, we seized the opportunity presented by their relocation to a new floor to completely rethink their workplace.

1. Thoughtful Spatial Configuration

To alleviate safety concerns, we designed the office layout to enhance social distancing. By establishing three distinct zones—a collaboration area, a focused work space, and social hubs—we allowed employees to navigate the office with ease.

This intentional arrangement promotes safe interactions while minimizing the need for restrictive signage. We selected versatile furniture arranged at appropriate distances, creating a visually appealing yet functional environment.

2. Inviting, Hospitality-Inspired Design

Understanding the importance of comfort, we adopted a design approach reminiscent of welcoming hospitality environments. The goal was to create a cozy and approachable space that employees would enjoy.

At the heart of this design is a vibrant pantry, designed to evoke the atmosphere of a lively coworking space. This encourages casual interactions and collaboration among team members, reinforcing community spirit within the office.

Utilizing soothing colors, we incorporated calming blues to instill a sense of trust, complemented by warm yellows and earthy browns to enhance the overall atmosphere. These elements are key in fostering a positive emotional response as employees return to in-person work.

3. Selecting Materials with Purpose

When choosing materials, we prioritized hygiene and sustainability. We opted for surfaces that are easy to clean and maintain, such as antimicrobial finishes and washable paints, ensuring the workspace remains safe and pristine.

Moreover, we focused on sustainability, using eco-friendly materials wherever possible. Many elements in the office, including flooring and furnishings, are sourced from recycled materials, showcasing our commitment to responsible design practices.

As businesses prepare to bring employees back, it’s crucial to design workspaces that reflect changing needs and priorities.
